The video is named after a young woman, Dina, who was filmed without her consent during a sexual assault. The case became a landmark moment in Egypt's modern history regarding digital rights, victim blaming, and the fight against sexual harassment. What Happened? In August 2014, a video began circulating on social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube. It showed a young woman, later identified as Dina, being surrounded and groped by a group of men in Tahrir Square, Cairo, during celebrations of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's inauguration. The assault was opportunistic and took place in a large, crowded public space.
