Rayyan sits at the dining table. One plate of steaming karahi. One empty plate across from him. A single spoon on the empty plate stands upright for a moment, then gently falls.

Rayyan stands up. He walks to the kitchen. He opens the spice cabinet. Pulls out a small wooden mortar and pestle.
A pause. Then, a soft, almost fragile whisper. One plate of steaming karahi
RAYYAN You know, most ghosts haunt people. They scream. They throw things.
A long silence. The air in the room gets heavier.
RAYYAN You died because of a gas leak. During a strike. While trying to make bland karahi. That’s not tragic. That’s irony.
