Hifi2007 Reddit -

Also, RIP the old-school forums vibe. Anyone know if the guy behind it is still actively updating? Comments (simulated): Been using it since 2014. Never got a virus. The false positives are from the repack encryption/compression he uses. Just scan with Malwarebytes or run in Sandboxie if you're paranoid. u/retrocomputix He’s still updating — last K-Lite repack was a few weeks ago. No forum drama, no crypto miners. One of the last honest places for legacy Windows stuff. u/safety_dance_73 I’d still be careful. Some older repacks had bundled opencandy (years ago). Nowadays seems clean, but always check hashes if available. u/OP Good to know. Yeah, I’m mainly after old codec packs for Windows 7 VMs. Hard to find safe archives elsewhere.

Here’s a Reddit-style post based on the common discussions around (a well-known site for repacks of older software, codecs, and system tools like K-Lite Codec Pack, Classic Shell, etc.): Title: Anyone still using hifi2007 for legacy software in 2026? hifi2007 reddit

That said, I’ve seen some threads (mostly old) warning about occasional false positives on VirusTotal. Are those still just packer-related or has anything changed? Also, RIP the old-school forums vibe

With so many sites now pushing fake download buttons or bundling adware, hifi2007 feels like a time capsule from the early 2010s — in a good way. No BS, just direct links. Never got a virus

Just curious — is hifi2007 still considered safe/reliable these days? I’ve been using it for years to grab older versions of things like MPC-HC, K-Lite, and Revo Uninstaller Portable. Never had an issue, but I know it’s a one-man show and not exactly “official.”
