A frustrating treasure hunt, but the printer is solid once set up Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) for the driver download experience
Buy the printer only if you are tech-savvy enough to troubleshoot driver conflicts. For normal users, pay extra for an Epson or Star Micronics printer where the driver is one click away on a clean website.
ICE Systems does not have a modern, user-friendly support website. If you type "ICE IRP 260 printer driver download" into Google, you are flooded with shady third-party driver sites (DriverGuide, Treexy, etc.) that try to make you pay or download potentially unsafe "driver updater" software.
Do not bother with random driver sites. Download a generic ESC/POS Thermal Printer Driver (many manufacturers use the same command set). If you need the official ICE package, contact ICE support directly via email, as they typically send the driver as an email attachment because their website is so poorly maintained.
I recently had to set up an receipt/thermal printer for a small retail counter. Let me be upfront: finding the correct driver is a nightmare.
