The fight is not glorious. It is ugly, wet, and desperate. Vhagar is five times Caraxes’s size, but the Blood Wyrm is faster and meaner. Daemon leaps from his saddle onto Vhagar’s back. He and Aemond fight with steel—Dark Sister against a Valyrian dagger—on the dragon’s neck, waves crashing below.
Daemon straps on Dark Sister. “To remind the gods that I still owe them nothing.”

But before Vhagar’s jaws open, Caraxes plunges from the clouds like a falling star. Daemon tackles Vhagar mid-flight—claws raking, teeth missing, the two dragons tumbling toward the sea.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: In the Vale, Rhaena places the cold dragon egg into a brazier. For a long moment, nothing happens. Then a single crack appears. The sound of something breathing—small, wet, alive. The fight is not glorious

Inside the castle, Jace reports: “Hugh has claimed Vermithor. Ulf, Silverwing. But the people in King’s Landing are starving. And the Greens have a new Hand—Lord Larys Strong.” Daemon leaps from his saddle onto Vhagar’s back
The High Septon lights a candle before a statue of the Mother. Behind him, Aegon II watches with his one good eye. He is bandaged, broken, but smiling.
Rhaenyra stares at a painted map. Her fingernails are bitten to the quick. Mysaria enters like a shadow, her voice silk over venom.
