A soft knock made her jump.

Dr. Vance took her hand. “You focus on the next step. Not the worst-case scenario. The next step is the MRI. And you come back to see me in two weeks to go over the results together. You’re not alone in this.” No lesions

“There’s your uterus,” Dr. Vance pointed. “Looks normal. And there’s your right ovary—see the little black circles? Those are follicles. Healthy.”

“You’re doing great,” Nurse Liam said quietly. “Your vitals are stable. Just breathe.”

Rachel let out a surprised, shaky laugh. “Thanks. I… I haven’t been here in a while.” “I’ll be there,” her sister said without hesitation

Dr. Vance nodded slowly. “I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s not how this should feel. My only rule today is that you are in charge. We stop when you say stop. We talk through everything before I do it. Understood?”
